The Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 9th, at 8 pm on ABC at the  Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, CA

The event will be held on February 9th, 2020 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be conducted without a host.

Best Picture Nominees are Ford V Ferrari, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and leading with the most nominations Joker. Best Actor nominations include Adam Driver, Antonio Banderas, Leonardo Dicaprio, Jonathan Pryce, and Joaquin Phoenix.

Controversy hit the Oscar during its nominations back in January due to the fact that the nominees were lacking of diversity.

A vox article How the Oscars industrial complex makes the Oscars less diverse by Emily Todd Van Der Werf stated.

The Academy remains very old and white and male, but those changes did result in three straight years when the nominations slate was notably more diverse than it had ever been. More people of color were nominated for and won acting Oscars. Women and people of color were nominated in the directing category more frequently (though still all too rarely). The first woman ever was nominated in the Cinematography category.

One of the films that have been talked about is Joker with 11 nominations including best film and best actor for Joaquin Phoenix.

Joaquin recently paid homage to Heath Ledger at the BAFTA’s stating.

“I’m standing here on the shoulders of my favorite actor, Heath Ledger, he said. “So thank you

There has been talking about Leonardo Dicaprio with his second Oscar nomination taking home another win for his performance as  Rick Dalton in Once Upon a time in Hollywood.

The Star-studded event will also have past winners present awards such as Mahershala Ali, Nathalie Portman, Regina King and many more.

Tune in to the Oscars on ABC at 8PM this Sunday!
